What does Cittaslow mean?
The term is a combination of the Italian word città (city) and the English word slow – thus, "slow city". The movement was founded in Italy in 1999 and inspired by the Slow Food movement. Member cities and municipalities commit to prioritizing quality of life, regionality, and sustainability.
